Basic Tips
As you start starcraft, the first thing you need to do is check the "Tips" in the menu. You will pick up some clues on how to play. Now remember, in a game of no rush, try to create as much workers as you can and mine resources. When you have reached your supply limit, make more supplies (Terran Supply Depot, Protoss Pylon, and Zerg Overlords). Make sure that you have enough supplies or else you have fallen behind. The Supplies will be showed on the top right corner. For your information, you have to make some attacking units fast in a rush situation. So for zergs, try to build the spawning pool as soon as possible. For Terrans, barracks, and protoss, a pylon and a gateway. But in a rush game, a zerg is almost invincible if you know how to play it well. A zerg rush is deadly. Notice that most of the zerg buildings need to be built on a substance called the "Creep", and the protoss stuff need to be in a Pylon circle. The Terrans can build their stuff anywhere. The zerglings are the best units for the zergs to attack with at the beginning of the game. The protoss units are stronger but they take longer to create and takes more resources.
Beginning Game
In the beginning of a game with no rush, it's good for zergs to save up minerals to create another hatchery. Then build some sunken colonies to defend the base. The Terrans will need bunkers and siege tanks in siege mode to defend their base. The Protoss will need some photon canons.
Middle & End Game
In the middle game, the zergs should send a combination of zerglings, hydralisks, and some mutralisks to force great damages into the defense of any other races. They might need some overlords for detection. The Terrans can attack with a lot of marines, firebats, and siege tanks to attack ground crews and wraiths to attack air enemies. The Protoss can use their zealots, dragoons and archons to destroy a huge enemy base for the archons are the strongest ground attackers in the protoss race. Of course, you will need detectors to help.
In the end game, the zergs should have more than 3 bases to keep themselves strong against attackers. The Protoss should have developed some carriers by now. While the Terrans can create some goliaths that can attack both ground and air stuff. But none race is stronger than the other in the end game. Try to create more strong units against your enemy.
